Bags of Rock

Check them out, new band, Scottish, messed up bagpipes and loud guitars, don’t know what else to say except they are quite good!

Full disclosure, Gregor who started it, well, he is my brother…….

War Boutique

With the rise of street art with a message many interesting artist that wouldn’t have been given the time of day in a gallery are now being lauded as arts next big thing.  The most successful with out a doubt has been Banksy, though other interesting artists are following in his wake, notable and amongst them is War Boutique.

Having exhibited already with Banksy, Peter Kennard, collaborated with Maharishi and with works touring the US it’s time to invest before Brad and Angelina decide to have him on their walls.

Great Scott! They actually made them - Nike Mag

Anyone who saw Back to the Future 2 knows and covets these shoes. Well now they’ve been made! Only 1500 pairs and all are being auctioned via e-bay at 350 pairs a day from the 8th September for the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.

True to the ones in the film, except for the automatic lacing any sneakerhead would kill for a pair in their collection

Well Tinker Hatfield says 2015 for the automatic lacing version, but it has been patented so who knows.

Few days left for anyone with a few thousand quid spare, hover boards and Delorean not included

Check out freshness for more info or the nike auction site

Star Wars – when merchandising goes a little too far…….

I was born the year the best film EVER came out so have grown up with everything possible in terms of Star Wars this and that. It was the first film that introduced the concept of merchandising with Kenner toys, and they just kept going and going and going.

It has come to my notice (and surely someone else) that Mr Lucas seems to be putting the Star Wars brand name to pretty much anything, some very cool and other slightly more than dubious.

There is the concept of brand extension, putting your brand name to things that are close or relate to what you already do, moving slowly into a new market with an established brand. I just don’t think George really believes in it, he’s become the Pierre Cardin of the movie world.

Take a look at the good, bad and simply WTF of the world of Star Wars merchandising……..

Adidas Luke Skywalker high tops, quality!
